have you checked if the water pump is circulating coolant properly, does the radiator cap hold the proper pressure.

How did you check the thermostat? How 'bout the fan? Other than that, you could have a blockage in the water jackets throughout the engine block. We hope that isn't the case. Is the waterways in your radiator clogged up? What does the inside of the rad look like when you take the cap off? Green build up or brownish sludge would clog the jets for sure. I would recheck the therm. first, even put a new one in, it's easy enough and in-exspensive. Make sure the electric fan is kicking on when you get up to temp. If not, unplug it and bypass the switch with a paperclip. If it runs it's ok. Any leaks? Water pump? Also, is the vehicle blowing white smoke out the pipe when running?

So sorry about your chariot. But by manufacturer's standard your samurai should have called on St Peter over five years ago. In fact it will be almost impossible to find a Suzuki worker that can remember the vehicle - I'm speaking the truth - I have been in the Japanese auto industry consulting and researching for fifteen years. They don't conduct product performance studies that go for that long. Nobody in Suzuki could tell you what could possibly be wrong - every answer would be a guess.

My advice to you would be to euthanize the little warrior unless you want the 5 o'clock near death experience - everything blows right in the middle of the fast lane on your way home.

If all you can check is good and it still overheats pay close attention to the pressure in the cooling system.Start your engine cold and take off your radiator cap.If you see anything resembling bubbles or smoke there is you problem.Head gasket leaking because your engine head is warped. It was overheated previously that's why changing a gasket didn't help.Sorry for bad news but you need a new head. Did they put new head or cleand up yours and put new steam seals on it?

Sorry about your problem...I have nothing helpful to add, but my first car was and '86 Samari....she was a spry little bugger...wonder what happened to her....Good luck getting your zuki up and running.
